Planning your Disney Vacation is a great way to help you get the most out of your vacation dollars.

You will want to decide on a budget and what type of experience you want.   Depending on how many are traveling together and the ages of the kids you will be sure to find the best fit for your family.

Let each member of the family help decide their own spending budget for special purchases and treats.

Activity Selections

Do you want to include extra time for sports, swimming and water activities, spa time for the adults, special interests for each family member?  Make sure everyone has some input and that everyone chooses at least one special activity.

Choose Theme Park

Decide in advance if you want to try to get an overview and visit every park, or if you want to spend the majority of time at one Theme Park and really get to explore all the adventures available.

Don't forget to make sure there are activities appropriate for every age and every member of your family, and again, let everyone choose an attraction or adventure they especially don't want to miss.  Help little one's choose something age-appropriate, so they aren't frightened or perhaps too young or small to ride.

Choose Admission type

Park Hopper passes give you the most flexibility and choices, but you may end up paying for features you won't have time to use - at least on this trip!  Some packages come with the passes built in, or you can customize your stay based on your individual needs.

Best Time to travel

Your family may only have vacation available at certain times due to busy work and school schedules.  Major holidays, like Christmas, are truly magical at any Disney Resort, but remember that it's also the busiest time to visit.   Allow yourself plenty of extra time for longer lines and crowded restaurants during peak travel periods.

Also remember to take the weather into account.  The dog days of summer are hot and humid in Florida, and afternoon rain showers are very predictable.  You may not get to enjoy water sports or swimming pool all day, but you can still enjoy a little relaxation in the evening after the storms have passed.  Just remember to allow for getting a little wet.

Length of stay

While some may have time for a 7-night, 10-night, or even 14-night vacation, and there is plenty to fill all the time you allow, not everyone will have that much time to spend.

If you have only a few days, you can still enjoy an Affordable Disney Vacation by choosing what you will have time for, and leaving the rest for another trip.

You will get the most out of your time if you don't try to pack too much in too short a time - you'll end feeling too rushed, skipping attractions with long lines, or going so fast that everything is a blur you barely remember when you get back home.

So much better to do one or two Theme Parks well, than to do them all in too much of hurry.

Choose Resort Category

You might want to spend a little extra time on your vacation, so you choose a budget hotel to stretch your vacation dollars.  Disney has made the most of each property, with fun and unique themes, kid friendly pools, and family-friendly restaurants. 

Don't forget that you won't be spending too much time during the day at your hotel, except maybe an afternoon break at the pool, or some rest for the little one, so don't worry if you don't spend as much money here.

If you want a fancy dinner, you can always make reservations at the deluxe resorts for a special occasion or night out.

Choose Resort Location

Affordable Disney Family Vacations choices of Activities and Theme Park will help determine where which Resort to select. 

The closer and more accessible to the Theme Parks, in general, the higher the price.  The budget resorts are located a bit farther away, but Disney has many transportation options that are convenient and frequent. 

Choosing a Resort located closer to the main Theme Park you plan to visit will give you the quickest access, and the most options, in some cases being close enough to walk.
